Today's challenge - don't be an "average girl" in this world .... young girls today feel like they HAVE to have a boyfriend to be "cool." As a girl who wanted to wait for her Prince Charming and not go toad-searching, girlfriend it was worth the wait! I know sometimes you feel like Sleeping Beauty (who doesn't feel like she will be rescued soon...) waiting for her Prince to come ... but instead, seek God's will for your life, pray and stay in His word. He will bring the right Christian guy along for you.
Don't feel like you are alone - I know the feeling of having all your friends with boyfriends because it's "the teenage thing to do," but I don't live by the world's standards - I live by God's. We shouldn't do something just because "everyone does it." Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." God's will is PERFECT, girls. If we seek His will and not our own, He will bring the right guy into your life. It may not be your "perfect timing," but in my experience, waiting for the guy God had for me helped make me the person I am today. Your time will come too. I was 15 when I met Russ...we've almost been married for one year (and we dated for 4 years). I wouldn't change anything.
As the song says, "If you get tired waiting 'til he comes ... God's arms are the perfect place to run...."
Don't go looking for toads .... wait for your Prince!
